Nine luxury sustainable pieces are up for auction and could be yours in just a few clicks. Own a piece of "green" fashion history!

Throughout LG Fashion Week in Toronto, Fashion Takes Action will host an online auction on eBay. Bids will be open at 12 Noon Sunday March 15th, and will close at 12 Noon Sunday March 22th.

Each winning bidder will receive a Rowenta Commercial Garment Steamer. A favourite with Canada´s top designers, stylists and photographers, this commercially rated standing garment steamer effectively removes stubborn wrinkles from even the most difficult fabrics. It includes a thick upholstery brush, fabric brush, and lint brush attachments for precision results no matter what the task.

Summer Rayne Oakes will also give away a signed copy of her latest book Style Naturally to accompany each of the 9 dresses.

Project Runway Canada Winner Evan Biddell

A self-taught designer with a strong sense of independence and a reluctance to blend in with the crowd, Evan Biddell began designing clothing at a young age and had opened two stores in British Columbia by the time he was 21. He made his debut onto the Canadian fashion scene as the first winner of Project Runway Canada and quickly became one of the country's most promising young designers. Evan has since relocated to Toronto's West End where he continues to create clothing and grow his brand, now sold at select boutiques worldwide.

Jason Meyers

Contestant of the current television series, Project Runway Canada, Jason Meyers is a force to reckon with. Already he has won over the hearts of many a fashionista. Jason began his professional career as a financial advisor, and took the jump from finance to fashion via the International Academy of Design. That leap of faith has paid off, in a big way.

Since graduating 5 years ago, Jason worked with a roster of private clients and then recently launched his eponymous high-end women's wear line. Jason loves to push the design boundaries with respect to colour, fit and the finer details. Jason's designs are sold in specialty boutiques in Toronto and Los Angeles.

Thien Le

Thien Le is an artist of many trades. A visual artist at heart, he now imparts his natural eye for line, style and colour into his vibrant creations.

As a youth, his artistic energy was expressed through sculpture, ceramic and painting. Later, fashion became the vehicle for his visual creativity and in 1996, he enrolled at the International Academy of Design. In addition to his studies, he worked in visual merchandising at various retailers and costuming at the Canadian Opera Company. In 1998, he graduated from the International Academy of Design and received the Best Evening Wear Designer award. Having refined his skills from his work experience, Thien launched his own label in 1999 and seven additional labels since.

Since then, Thien Le's designs have taken centre stage. He has dressed many a celebrity including Tara Spencer Nairn, Catherine O'hara, Shirley Douglas, and Colm Feore. Thien's stunning creations were presented at the launch of Chrysalid, Lancome's new line of makeup, and he collaborated with Elizabeth Arden's Red Door Salon in L.A and New York City.

He continues to be known for his intricately detailed designs and elegant formalwear.

Designer Sonja den Elzen uses sustainable fabrics for her line Thieves, such as hemp blends, tussah silks, organic wools, organic cottons, lyocell, bamboo, and soy. All pieces are conceived and assembled in Toronto. Thieves pieces use the subtle asymmetry of form, detail and colour that we find in all natural bodies to modify and play with clean lines and classic cuts resulting in an urban organic aesthetic.

In spring 2008, Sonja opened a boutique in Queen St West that seamlessly integrates a number of other artists and designers' work, offering customers a variety of beautiful garments, bags, accessories and art objects. All things are made with the future of the planet in mind.

Sonja conceptualizes her creations through unifying sustainable fabrics, organic textures, collaborative graphics, and sculpting these elements around the form of the human body. Her sustainable approach is in her DNA and has always been the main focus of her work. Sonja is of the set who believe that sustainable fashion is about the fashion first; sustainability is a given.

Sonja is most recently a front runner for the TFI New Labels award, which takes place later in the spring.

Eugenia Leavitt

Eugenia works from her atelier in Montreal, the city where she was born and raised. She studied Fine Arts at NSCAD University in Halifax, Nova Scotia and studied Fashion in Montreal. Her label, Eugenia Designs began in 2005. Eugenia derives great pleasure from the fashion design process and creating something from start to finish.

Zoran Dobric

Nada Yousif
