JUDGES Summer Rayne Oakes
Summer Rayne Oakes is a model-activist, correspondent on Discovery Network’s Planet Green, author of bestselling style guide Style, Naturally (Chronicle, 2009), and Editor-at-Large of ABOVE Magazine. As brand ambassador and sustainability strategist for both Portico Home and Spa, and Payless ShoeSource’s zoe&zac line, her work keeps her busy on and off camera, advising and consulting on various aspects of design, production and practice. Oakes is also Co-founder and CEO of source4style.com, a B-2-B marketplace that allows designers to search, compare and purchase more sustainable materials from around the world (launched private beta March 2010). Vanity Fair has named Oakes a "Global Citizen," Outside called her one of the "Top Environmental Activists," Glamour anointed her "70 Women of Green,” and CNBC has named her one of the "Top 10 Green Entrepreneurs of 2010." Amy DuFault, currently the Fashion Editor of www.ecosalon.com has been writing about fashion and design for 10 years at such publications as Boston Magazine, CocoEco, Coastal Living and Bluefly.com as well as appearing on ABC¹s Emmy award-winning Boston news magazine Chronicle and NBC's Style File as a fashion expert.

Lorraine Smith
Lorraine Smith is a sustainability consultant who combines private sector and NGO experience to bring about positive social and environmental change. During her four years at Canadian Business for Social Responsibility (CBSR), she honed her knowledge of corporate social responsibility and stakeholder engagement within the consumer goods life cycle including garment, electronics and groceries. She continues to act as a Senior Associate at CBSR.
Lorraine’s extensive engagement with anti-sweatshop activists, socially responsible investment experts, municipal leaders and large retail and consumer products companies has brought her an understanding of the complex issues ranging from human rights in the supply chain to consumer education. She focuses on taking a Life Cycle Approach to sustainability, and to supporting collaborative, learning-based initiatives. Lorraine is a strategic advisor to Fashion Takes Action, and she has written for a range of publications on the topic of ethical sourcing including the Retail Council of Canada's Canadian Retailer Magazine, Sept/Oct 2008, “The politics of sourcing” and CBSR's retail industry collaboration report, “Retail CSR Leadership Report: Ethical Sourcing”.
