Hemp

The hemp plant makes one of the most environmentally friendly fabrics in the world. It is naturally highly resilient to pests and requires very little water to grow. It is also quite versatile. Not only can it be used in the production of textiles and clothing, it can be used in food, for paper production and to emulate plastic. The hemp plant is extremely durable, much more so than cotton. Fabrics made from hemp are insulating, absorbent, hypo-allergenic and are generally non-irritating to the skin. can be used as a blend to make a wide variety of fabrics - from casual wear blended with organic cotton, to evening and bridal wear blended with silk.
