Two local designers nominated for the first Canadian Eco Fashion Awards.

Proving that environmentally conscious fashion design is more than just a season's trend, Fashion Takes Action is launching the first FTA Design Forward awards.

Close to 40 designers made the first round, and it's now down to 14, including locals deux fm and Laura Chenoweth.

But what makes these awards interesting (and credible) is the level of transparency, and the informative write-ups on where each designer shines and could use improvement. If you're at all interested in how your clothes made it onto your back, it's a good read.
