An Eco Friendly Marketplace and Clothing Swap

A fun evening of pre-holiday eco-friendly swapping & shopping for both Men and Women to enjoy!

Attendees MUST bring at least ONE item to swap in order to participate (or drop off before hand). NEW!!! WEST END DROP OFF ADDED. See details below.

Soulful vibes will add to the party atmosphere where attendees will trade in their quality designer or brand name, lightly worn garments, shoes, purses, ties, scarves and belts for other items displayed on the curated racks. (All remaining garments will be donated to Goodwill.) We thank Swapsity.ca for producing the swap part of Shop Sustainable!

Swappers can also hunt for new eco fashions from Fashion Takes Action members, hidden within the racks!!

While hanging out in the lounge enjoy fresh, vegetarian nibblies with a mocktail ($2), a glass of Southbrook wine, or a local Steamwhistle beer ($5 each). The newly frocked can also take Fashion Takes Action's "Resize My Fashion Footprint Pledge” highlighting practical ways to use fashion as way to live more sustainably.

Other vendors, sponsors & activities include: Sole Rebels shoes, Ecocessories, Children of Hope, ethicalDeal Toronto, Live Green Toronto, Bamboo Magazine, non-toxic make-up demos by Green Beauty, and community mapping of Toronto’s eco fashion spots by Exhibit Change! You will also have the chance to meet Toronto's own Barter Babe, Shannon Simmons who was recently featured in The Toronto Star.  And take home free samples of pure and natural laundry soap from Berry Plus! Our event will be powered by Bullfrog Power and renewable resources.

VIP Status:

Drop off your clothes to us in advance - not only will you get a free drink ticket, but you will bypass the line at the door which means you can get swapping sooner!

Items to swap can be brought to the event, but only advance drop offs will receive a free drink ticket (valued at $5).

Clothing Guidelines:

Accepted “lightly used” items for swapping: men’s and women’s clothing, footwear, belts and purses/bags. No jewelry. No kids clothing. High-quality brand names, vintage, and other pieces you've loved but no longer wear are encouraged!

One item from you accepted for the swap = one item you can take home from the swap. We reserve the right to donate all other clothing that does not meet swap standards to charity. Our charity partner this year is Goodwill.

We are only accepting clean clothes, with no rips, stains or cigarette smoke, and have the right to refuse any clothing that does not meet our standards. Hot water washing and dry cleaning (eco-friendly preferred) is required.
