Our Eco-Footprint

By making Fashion Takes Action a truly green event, we hope to have inspired event planners and fashion show producers to make greener choices, and thus less of an impact on the environment. Once we have CarbonZero’s greenhouse gas emissions analysis, we will provide a breakdown and will compare the energy cost savings in each of the following areas:

THE VENUE – The outdoor space at Evergreen Brick Works allowed for natural lighting and climate control, set against a raw and earthy backdrop.

POWER & LIGHTING – The entire event was powered by Bullfrog, whose power comes from clean, emission-free sources such as wind and low-impact water power. The low energy, high efficiency lighting was provided by Eurolite, whose concern for energy conservation has led them to promote environmentally friendly lighting applications.

FOOD & BEVERAGE – The local, vegetarian organic food was provided by EnVille Catering; Frogpond Farm Organic wine was served, as well as eco-friendly Banrock Station; Mill Street Brewery served up their organic lager, and Green Shift provided biodegradable plates, cups, napkins, cutlery, toilet paper and soap.
