Toronto eco jewelry designer Lara Bazant infuses her 15+ years of experience with a sense of spirit and preservation to create jewelry that merges global sustainability with individual style. Her unique adornments are internationally recognized for their versatile use, off-beat yet classy look and environmental nod. In her Victorian industrial warehouse studio at the heart of Toronto’s Distillery District, Lara uses sterling silver to breathe new life into vintage, natural and fair trade stones which she sources from her many travels.

Chartreuse Style is a boutique offering guilt-free fashion and accessories. Created by Mary-Ann Kowala, shop carries many different brands from companies that design and manufacture their products with care for the environment and the people involved in the manufacturing. Fashion doesn't have to be harmful, wasteful or frivolous. By showcasing creative new products from innovative companies, we hope to help fuel the change to a greener sustainable future and look terrific while doing it!

Meet one of Fashion Takes Action's newest members, Deborah Adams.

Based in Montreal, Deborah hand crafts one-of-a-kind leather bags and accessories. Each piece is created from recycled leather making the bags both environmentally conscious and unique.

Deborah's attraction to sustainable fashion lies in the deep sense of satisfaction she retains from knowing that the creation of her products does not contribute to the landfills, unnecessary pollution and animal cruelty, caused by conventional leather manufacturing. 

She draws her inspiration from both her upbringing in the British Isles and the variety of colours, textures and tailoring that can be found in traditional leather clothing. She loves taking on a creative challenge and her beautiful bags certainly prove that!
