Founded in 2007, Fashion Takes Action is Canada’s leading non-profit organization advancing sustainability and circularity in the fashion industry. Through education, collaboration, and systems change, FTA works to shift both industry and consumer behaviour toward more responsible practices.

Our My Clothes My World (MCMW) program empowers youth to understand the social and environmental impacts of fashion and make informed, sustainable choices. Now entering an exciting new phase, MCMW is expanding nationally through a new online learning platform, fresh curriculum content, and partnerships with underserved and Indigenous communities.

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and creative Education Coordinator to support the development and delivery of new sustainability education materials for My Clothes My World. Reporting to Program Manager,, the Education Coordinator will play a key role in developing lesson plans, coordinating program logistics, supporting partnership outreach, and ensuring smooth operations as we launch new programming across Canada.

This is an ideal role for an early-career educator who is passionate about climate education, fashion, and youth engagement, and who wants to contribute to a project that combines environmental awareness and understanding with social impact.


Key Responsibilities

Educational Development & Research

  • Support the Program Manager on the creation of new curriculum units aligned with curriculum standards and FTA’s sustainability learning objectives.

  • Conduct background research and compile educational resources to support evidence-based content.

  • Support professional development planning for educators

  • Initial translation materials into French

Coordination & Administration

  • Support scheduling, communications, and workflow across multiple project partners, including educators, community organizations, and subject matter experts. 

  • Coordinate the integration of new educational materials onto FTA’s online platform.

  • Track program participation, deliverables, and impact data for internal reporting.

  • Assist with project documentation and file management

Outreach & Engagement

  • Help identify and engage underserved and Indigenous communities and schools for program delivery.

  • Support outreach and partnership development in collaboration with the Communications team.

  • Maintain positive relationships with educators and community partners to ensure meaningful, inclusive participation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or equivalent degree in Education, Environmental Studies, or a related field.

  • REQUIRED: Bilingual, with strong written and oral communications in both English and French 

  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in education, curriculum development, or youth programming (non-profit or classroom experience is an asset).

  • Strong writing and organizational skills, with knowledge of age-appropriate, engaging educational materials.

  • Knowledge of sustainability, fashion, or the circular economy is considered an asset.

  • Comfortable working collaboratively in a fully remote environment.

  • Experience engaging with Indigenous communities or equity-deserving groups is considered a strong asset.

  • Proficiency in Google Workspace; comfort using online learning or content management systems.
